Clinical services
The Center of Gastrointestinal Care conducts up-to-date diagnosis and minimally invasive procedures that result in better outcomes for patients, including shorter stays in the hospital, and faster recovery times. It includes:

- Diagnosis and Management of conditions and diseases that affect the liver (Hepatology)
Some specialist procedures are:
- Esophagogastroscopy including biopsies and polypectomies, esophageal dilatation, banding of esophageal varices and esophageal stenting and endoscopic sleeve and tissue approximation
- Colonoscopy including biopsies and polypectomies and stenting for opening up narrowed areas as needed, as well as Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD), Endoscopic Mucosal Resection and removal of colonic mass via endoscopy
- Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) procedure used to perform deep tissue biopsy and diagnosis of different GI pathology with high accuracy
- Single balloon endoscopy (enteroscopy) for diagnostic purposes. This procedure allows the specialist to see almost the whole gastrointestinal tract with the capability for biopsies as needed
- Capsule endoscopy involving the use of a small camera that takes photos of the whole intestinal tract, which get interpreted by our specialists for diagnostic purposes
- Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP) visualizing the biliary and pancreatic ducts which might lead to extraction of stones without open surgery and stenting of blockage
- Endoscopic sleeve gastroscopy procedure in specifically chosen bariatric patients
- Balloon Intragastrical Insertion for loss weight
- Bariatric Surgery for loss weight
- Laparoscopy including Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy (LSG), Biliopancreatic Diversion/Duodenal Switch (BPD/DS), Mini-Gastric Bypass (Mini-GB), Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding (LAGB), and Laparoscopic Revisional Procedures
- Metabolic Surgery surgical procedures to treat metabolic diseases, especially type 2 diabetes. The best-known metabolic surgery is the gastric bypass. Studies have affirmed its efficacy compared to medical treatment
- Foregut Surgery treating benign and malignant conditions of the esophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas and spleen. We offer treatment for all types of hernias including hiatal, ventral and incisional. We also treat gastroesophageal reflux disease and achalasia. We use minimally invasive techniques for these common conditions. Procedures include:
