Dr.Tarek Qutob earned his medical degree from university of Jordan. Then, he moved to the United States where he initially completed his internal medicine residency from University of Buffalo in New York state. During his internal medicine residency, he was active in basic and clinical medical research and was highly recognized for his exceptional research work by the state of New York. After completing his internal medicine residency, he moved to Rochester, New York and completed his fellowship (subspecialty) training in digestive and liver diseases from the renowned University of Rochester. He later completed training in clinical nutrition and earned the board degree in that field. Recently, he earned the American board degree in obesity Medicine.
Dr. Qutob has practiced as a gastroenterologist and advanced hepatologist in the USA for 10 years before moving back to Amman. He had a very successful medical practice in the states of Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and New Hampshire. Dr. Qutob had been involved in the academic teaching at the University of Minnesota and later at the University of Jordan.
Dr. Qutob is an advanced endoscopist with expertise in highly skilled therapeutic and bariatric endoscopic procedures. This includes different endoscopic procedures for weight loss that can target different overweight and obesity He is also an expert in pancreato-biliary endoscopy and endosonographic.
Dr. Qutob is currently the only provider in Jordan, who performs different advanced endoscopic (non-surgical) procedures for weight loss, like the Endoscopic Sleeve gastroplasty and Aspiration therapy. He is also an expert in placement of stomach balloons for weight loss.
