Professional Experience
Dr. Omar Sharaiha is a highly trained and experienced Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist. He started his career at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, NY conducting colorectal cancer research. He then continued his training in Sydney, Australia, and obtained fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He gained extensive experience at one of the busiest Gastroenterology Centres in Australia, The Centre for Digestive Diseases.
Experience and interest in a number of areas, including
- Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-pancreatography and intervention (ERCP)
- General and Functional Gastroenterology
- Complex Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
- Gut Dysbiosis and Faecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT)
- Bowel Cancer Screening for prevention.
