Corporate Social Responsibility

CORPORATE SOCIAL
RESPONSIBILITY

Abdali Hospital considers Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to be an integral part of its mission and values, reflecting a commitment to ethical and socially conscious practices.

Environmental Responsibility

Abdali Hospital understands and promotes the responsibility of all corporations to protect and take better care of the environment as well as reduce carbon emissions. Abdali Hospital is actively working on two major angles:

  • Adopt clean technologies: Abdali Hospital’s power is 100% derived from its fully owned 8 MW solar wheeling plant. In addition, the facility has adopted LED lights in multiple areas, as well as advanced water efficiency techniques to reduce waste. Abdali Hospital uses district cooling and heating, which is considered more energy efficient than alternative sources.
  • Promote employees’ behavior towards energy efficiency and waste management: Key measures include the use of an efficient Building Management System to optimize energy in the use of lighting, heating, and cooling, as well as recycling and waste management awareness and promotion. Abdali Hospital also requests environmentally friendly policies and procedures from its key suppliers.

Promoting Arts as a Supportive Element for Health and a Driver for Culture

Art helps in creating a caring and compassionate environment, enriching the experience of staff and patients alike.  Hence, building a contemporary art collection is an important distinctive factor at Abdali Hospital. As of now, the collection comprises approximately 60 works by young and established artists.

The international scope of the collection is represented by artists as varied as Moffat Takadiwa from Zimbabwe, Ida Applebroog from the USA, Dominique Gonzales Forester from France, Zhang Enli from China, and British Palestinian artist Rosalind Nashashibi, amongst many others. The works range from photographs, such as "2623 Third Street, Santa Monica II” by John Baldessari, wall mounted sculptures like “Intro” by Eva Rothschild, to works on paper, such as “Untitled (Utopia’s)” by Tomma Abts, paintings such as “Untitled (Mormon Temple)” by David Korty or textile pieces like “Arcos” by Brazilian artist Ana Mazzei. The artworks will be displayed in patient rooms.  They will be an evidence of the hospital's commitment to compassion, integrity, and quality. At the same time, the artworks will encourage dialogues between patients, visitors and employees, inspire hope, aid recovery, and reduce pain and anxiety.

Abdali Hospital hosts various activities and events to involve the art community with our patients and staff. Please see our events section for more information.
