Clinical Pharmacist

Job Summary

Provides direct and indirect patient care by performing prospective drug utilization review for hospitalized patients from the inpatient pharmacy or through rounding with the medical team. 


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs duties and responsibilities of staff pharmacists while performing staffing duties.  

  • Counsels patients on the appropriate use of medications & their families.

  • Trains and orient new staff to their assigned duties and tasks.

  • Inspects all stores and areas where medications are available in the hospital including storage conditions, medication stock, medication trolleys.

  • Participates in the development and presentation of orientation, education, and training programs to the pharmacy, medical, nursing, and other staff.

  • Performs any other duties assigned.

 


Job Minimum Requirements:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree or Masters Degree in Clinical Pharmacy                                                                            

  • 4 years experience in modern hospital.

  • Knowledge of contemporary hospital/clinical practice and service. 

  • Significant knowledge and expertise in advanced pharmacy practice, specialty medication therapy management, and specialty evidence-based medicine in area appropriate for clinical assignment.

  • Excellent communication skills.
