OR Head Nurse

Job Summary

The Head Nurse is responsible for the coordination of health services & for providing administrative & clinical direction for the nursing staff & coordinating immediate response to emergency situations, ensuring the provision of a quality-driven evidence-based patient service inside the assigned unit. He/she is guided by hand –over reports, nursing & center policies, procedures, acuity measures, administrative & clinical judgment, this role requires a person who is dedicated to the job and has the ability to keep working beside the patient and the staff all the time

Job Requirements

Education:

  • B Sc. in Nursing
  • Nursing License
  • Valid BLS

Desirable:

  • Master’s degrees in nursing or any related field
  • Postgraduate management qualification.
  • ACLS

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in OR, 5 of them at management level is essential.
  • Clinical nursing skills.
  • Evidence of continuous education and professional development.
  • Demonstrated competency in English language proficiency, computer
    literacy, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

  • More than 15 years’ experience in OR.
  • Previous experience with the accreditation processes an advantage.
  • A record of effective leadership and interpersonal skills
