Vitality Plus Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is a medical condition that makes your bones weak and fragile, making it easier for them to break. This happens when your body either loses too much bone or doesn't make enough bone.
To check for osteoporosis, the US Preventive Services Task Force recommends that women who are 65 years or older and men who are 70 years or older should be screened. For younger men and women who have risk factors for osteoporosis such as smoking, drinking too much alcohol, or having a family history of hip fractures, screening should also be done. Other risk factors include having low body weight, vitamin D deficiency, and prolonged periods of immobilization.
